Continuing in our series of class spotlights, this week we'll take a look at Cycle 360 with Lori.
Cycle 360 is an indoor cycling class designed to help you burn calories while having fun. Strap in, let go of everything outside and sweat your heart out in an engaging spin experience.
What to expect
Cycling 360 begins with a seated warm up, usually 4-5 minutes in length. We learn about hand positions, posture and general safety. Next is a 1-2 minute standing ride, to emphasis coordination and stamina. From there, WE RIDE! Each week, we do a great mix of jogs, sprints, hill climbs and mountains with plenty of opportunity to rest in between events. This is a "Go at your own pace" class, suited for all levels. BEGINNERS AND OLDER ACTIVE ADULTS are strongly encouraged to attend.
What should I bring?
Hydration, Hydration, Hydration. Definitely, you will need to bring water. A towel would be useful because we do sweat. Not going to lie, the bike seats are hard and take a bit of getting used to. So, if you have your own padded bike seat cover, please bring it. If you wear bike shorts for out door cycling, they would be perfect for indoor cycling.
Does it meet my goals?
Indoor cycling is a great way to increase lower body and core strength. It is nice changeup for your cardio routine. Also, you have the potential to burn 400-700 per session.
What if I have limitations?
Modifications are limited. Anyone attending should able to do a light to moderate intensity cardio workout and have little or no injury issues with the ankles, knees, hips and wrists.
Come try it out! This class is currently held on Tuesday mornings at 8am downstairs in our fitness room. Bikes are issued on a first come, first served basis so we recommend showing up at least 5-10 minutes early to get set up.
